On 19 November 2025, the online “2nd Workshop on Challenges and Strategies in Degradation of Organic Contaminants Research: SMALL MOLECULES, BIG PROBLEMS” was successfully held. The workshop was organised by Ivna Kavre Piltaver, Martina Kocijan, Daria Jardas Babić i Mattea Mačkić Jovanović, in collaboration with colleagues from the Faculty of Physics, University of Rijeka, the University of Aveiro and the University of Porto (Portugal), the Jožef Stefan Institute (Ljubljana, Slovenia), the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences (Belgrade, Serbia), De Montfort University (Leicester, UK) and the University of Pannonia (Veszprém, Hungary).
The workshop brought together researchers and experts in the field of removal and degradation of organic contaminants, promoting the exchange of current challenges, scientific approaches, and innovative strategies within this interdisciplinary field. The program included 7 invited lectures and the 11 oral presentations, highlighting the latest results and trends in photocatalysis and the degradation of organic pollutants.
This international event further enhanced scientific collaboration among participating institutions and opened new research perspectives and opportunities for future projects.
