Daria Jardas Babić Successfully Completed Research Visit at FEUP, Portugal

Daria Jardas Babić successfully completed her research stay and training from 19 March to 26 March 2026 at the Laboratory of Separation and Reaction Engineering and the Laboratory of Catalysis and Materials (LSRE-LCM), which operates within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Porto (FEUP), Portugal. The LSRE-LCM laboratory is recognised as one of the leading European research centres in chemical engineering, catalytic processes and advanced materials.

During her stay, she received practical training in the use of the Quantachrome Nova 4200 and Quantachrome Autosorb iQ porosimeters – highly sophisticated instruments used for characterising porous materials by nitrogen and other gas adsorption methods. Mastering this equipment enables detailed determination of specific surface area, pore size distribution and total pore volume of materials used in catalytic processes. In addition to instrumental training, the stay included education on analysis methodologies and interpretation of the results obtained.

This international collaboration enabled the exchange of knowledge, experience and research approaches, further strengthening international scientific connectivity and laying the foundations for future joint research activities. The skills acquired will be directly applied within the POMERI project, whose successful implementation requires precisely this kind of analytical capacity and international experience.
