Dr. , PhD, stayed at the Institute of Physics for Advanced Materials, Nanotechnology and Photonics (IFIMUP), University of Porto, Portugal, from 1 to 30 October 2025, as visiting researcher for scientific and, professional trainingin the fields of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, and Transport properties measurement (Seebeck coefficient and electrical conductivity). The research stay was carried out as a result of a successful project proposal within the FCT Mobility Programme (1st edition – funded project with reference FCT/Mobility/1300866832/2024-25).
During the one-month stay, Dr. Kocijan acquired both theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to the aforementioned material characterization techniques. The experimental work involved the analysis of TiO2 and the TiO2 nitrogen-dopedsamples, synthesized using the ALD system in Rijeka, by applying the above-mentioned methods.
The research training was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Mariana Rocha, with the collaboration of Prof. Dr. André Pereire. During her stay, Dr. Kocijan became acquainted with the instruments, research techniques, and scientific activities carried out within IFIMUP.
On 27 October 2025, she delivered an invited lecture entitled “Thin Film Engineering for Sustainable Water Purification: Unlocking New Potential in Solar-Driven Wastewater Treatment Technologies” as part of the IFIMUP Talks series.
