Ivna Kavre Piltaver and Daria Jardas Babić successfully completed a scientific exchange and training visit at two renowned institutions: Central Facility for Electron MicroscopyRWTH Aachen University, and the Ernst Ruska-Center for Microscopy and Spectroscopy with Electrons, Forschungszentrum Jülich. The visit took place from June 16 to June 30, 2025.
During the program, Ivna and Daria became familiar with advanced infrastructure and research activities in the following areas:
- Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
- EDX and EBSD techniques and data analysis
- Cross-section ion polishing sample preparation
- Focused Ion Beam (FIB) techniques
- Electron Microprobe Analysis
- X-ray Tomography
- Atom Probe Tomography (APT)
- Raman Spectroscopy
- Conventional TEM and electron diffraction
- High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM)
The knowledge gained through this visit will significantly support their scientific research activities within the POMERI project. In addition to professional development, the visit enabled the establishment of valuable contacts, paving the way for future collaboration with leading research centers and experts in the field, as well as potential joint research project applications.
