Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivna Kavre Piltaver, assistant Daria Jardas Babić and Mattea Mačkić Jovanović participated in the workshop “The Electron Microscopy Spring School”, held from March 31 to April 4, 2025, in Leeds, United Kingdom.
The workshop included both theoretical and practical components. The theoretical part featured lectures on scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), sample preparation, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and cryoSEM technique.
The practical part of the workshop was conducted in laboratories equipped with cutting-edge instruments, including:
- TEM: TESCAN Tensor, FEI Titan3 Themis 300
- SEM: Hitachi SU8230, Carl Zeiss EVO MA15, FEI Quanta 650, Jeol 8230, Tescan VEGA3 XM
- FIB-SEM: Tescan AmberX Plasma, FEI Helios G4 CX DualBeam
Participation in the workshop provided the attendees with new knowledge and practical experience in the field of electron microscopy, which will significantly contribute to their ongoing scientific research and the development of professional competencies.
